Our Amazing New Home

Orcare is moving to new offices to enable the recruitment of new staff to service and support its UK and overseas customers.

Orcare Limited, an IT services company specialising in the travel, transport and healthcare industries today announced a major expansion of business delivering content-managed websites and database applications. With further growth planned in 2009, the company is moving to new offices to enable the recruitment of new staff to service and support its UK and overseas customers.

The business started from home offices in 2005 by partners Paul Marden and Peter Brett, who met while working together at British Airways.  Since becoming a full-time concern in July 2008 Orcare has doubled its customer base, adding clients in Brussels, Paris, Virign Islands and the UK.  January 2009 sees Orcare move to The Hub in IQ Farnborough, the new business park on the edge of London-Farnborough Airport.

Orcare’s Director, Paul Marden, says: “2008 was a busy year for Orcare, founded through a shared passion for delivering high quality IT solutions for the transport and healthcare sectors.  We are a growing company, but our plans for expansion can only be met by increasing our workforce, and for that we need the flexibility that The Hub provides.”

Having developed and managed website operations for small business for several years, in 2008 Orcare began specialising in developing websites using Umbraco, an open source Content Management System which makes it easier for businesses to publish their own website content.  Mr Marden comments: “It’s easy to see that websites that are frequently updated with great content are the ones that appear highest in Google, get the most visitors and ultimately produce the greatest return to the business.  Umbraco makes it easy for businesses to publish content on a regular basis in order to keep their sites fresh.”

Last year Orcare worked with a consortium of road safety stakeholders including the Road Safety Foundation, the AA and the RAC Foundation to deliver the Campaign for Safe Road Design website using Umbraco.  Mr Marden comments “Umbraco has proven to be very popular with prospective clients and we now have projects in development using Umbraco for Red Box Media, based in Paris, the European Road Assessment Programme, headquartered in Brussels and British Airways Flying Club in Buckinghamshire.
